The wind brought down an almost fully ripe orange the other day. Today I remembered I had it in a bag in the crisper, cut out the split bit, and had it on my breakfast cereal with the banana.

Mama Violet was there for lunch, and trusted me enough to get into her usual lurking spot while I refilled the bowl, rather than setting off across the street.
