It's now impossible to finish a round of watering (6 positions of the hose sprinkler, 10 minutes each) without finishing in full dark, since the drought rules I'm still following require not starting before 6 pm while we're still under "daylight savings time". Which here doesn't end until November 3. I could break the rules by starting early in back. I could even ignore them; we aren't in a drought any longer. But it seems like a socially responsible thing to do. "Daylight savings time" is an abomination and having it extend to the end of October is asinine. Now if we get rain, I can put away the sprinkler head ...
