A tiny bit cooler today; it didn't quite reach 90 in the back porch. So I gave the hand watering a pass today. The days are also a tiny bit shorter. When I finished my dinner last night, the glow in the west was almost gone, and when I started tonight's, it was closer to time to close the curtains and give the cats some privacy.

When I stumbled out with the refilled water bowl at breakfast time, Mama Violet was at the other end of the porch. She was much displeased when I not only came towards her and down the steps, I continued to the end of the driveway to get the newspaper. At least I didn't have to retrieve it from under the car, inches from her hissy face; it was on the pavement/sidewalk. (We seem to have changed to a new delivery person, or maybe they've changed cars and have a more awkward throw; it used to usually be under the car, now it's usually in the gutter.)

It seems to be a rule that delivered newspapers are always in an awkward place.
