The dog had to go for a check-up. She's terrified of the vet's, so it was a big production, further complicated by their having relocated from a little house to a suite in one of the new citified buildings in downtown Sunnyvale. Went off surprisingly well; they are now almost entirely female-staffed, so the dog's distrust of menfolk didn't come into play, and although they no longer have 2 separate entrances and waiting rooms, they appear to now have enough exam rooms to maintain an entire corridor for dogs and another for cats, which I think is why she was less nervous in the exam room. Also, no more venetian blinds for her to destroy, and the scale registered her weight faster between frantic attempts to flee off it, so we didn't have to weigh her together with me and then weigh me and subtract.
