Had to go to my doc's. The sign requiring masks has been removed from the building (which is a two-storey open breezeway affair housing almost entirely medical offices, the exceptions being medical-related, like sample analysis). But my doc's door still had its own sign asking me to wear one.

Mama Violet appeared for dinner.

I stopped requiring people to wear them, but still required at the hospital.

The newspapers are saying there's a new variant, so the requirement may be reimposed by the county here; our county chief health officer, Sara Cody, achieved some fame for being careful, early on and persistently. (And with good reason: I think the first documented case of COVID-19 in the US, and the first death, were in Santa Clara County.) But for some time, the doc's office has been the only place where I'm required to mask, and the bandana I use in other indoor public settings has been almost the only face covering to be seen except on the staff. (I have to take things slowly and carefully when wearing an actual mask; I have breathing problems. I know bandanas don't do much, but the bandana may protect someone when my snuffles turn out not to be allergies, and it sometimes deters people from getting too close.) I'm glad the hospital still requires masks, PITA though they are.
