We went to Santa Clara to stock up on dog food. Did not get killed on the roads. A lot of the businesses on El Camino have thrown in the towel—empty, replaced, or having condos built on them. Strangeley enough, the startlingly coloured apartment complex where K-Mart was a couple of decades ago still has the acres of parking lot in front, surrounded by fencing and slowly going to grass. Puzzling.
