It rained off and on all day, but not heavily. So the total keeps creeping up. I got my hands muddy doing some gardening, watched by Monty and Prudence, who later deigned to eat a bit in the back porch. The Chron published an anthology of TikTok videos of drivers stuck on I-80, with a headline mocking them for trying to drive to Lake Tahoe in a snowstorm, but I was struck by the fact the vast majority were driving big rigs. Including one with the Amazon smile. I bet those drivers didn't have a choice in the matter. (Two guys in a car did reportedly live-stream the traffic jam on Saturday until they lost signal at the top of Donner Pass. I hope they're not still there and contemplating cannibalism.)

Anyone who goes into the Donner Pass in a snowstorm and doesn't bring a few sammitches deserves to be eaten.
