Yes, as I understand it this is an unusual La Niña year since that pattern usually brings less rain to SoCal and more rain to NorCal (and we're in the middle so it's a crapshoot), but what do I know. They have had a worse drought than us so I'm glad they got some rain; the biggest problems are potential slides in burn areas and rivers that perennially flood, but this rainstorm brought less to the North Bay than the South so only the perennial places in San Jose got waterlogged. Not bad, all told. Hoping for lots more rain this season; they had to draw down one of our main reservoirs to make repairs, so we have been particularly short of water after last winter fizzled out. We're fine, I still had the bucket under the current main leak in the back porch room :-)
