It's been cool, so yesterday I trimmed the bush outside the dining-room window and took some more seed pods off the oleander, and today I swept the driveway and made a layer in the compost bin. I kept sneezing and thought I could smell smoke; only afterwards did I see that there's a caution for wildfire smoke in the area and I was supposed to avoid exertion if I could smell smoke. Oh well.

Mama Violet came out for an early dinner late in the afternoon and was eating amicably with either Monty or her new ginger kitten. Later the calico kitten was eating.
