The weather pundits have apparently said the inch and a half of rain we've had may be it for the season; I hope they're as wrong as they usually are, but resumed watering today in any case, in addition to the potted plants I always do on Sunday. In preparation for Yule, I also tidied up in the front and side yards and swept the sidewalk and the end of the driveway again; I waded into the thicket and retrieved and returned three balls from next door. I also found the landlord of the rent house on the other side had chopped off a lot from the camellias, including many flowers that were already opening, and left them in the side yard. His tenants' loss.






Here's what the approach to the bridge used to look like; the bridge itself was replaced as it was unsafe, and the ramps were relocated. In the process the former Greyhound station under the bridge, which an architecture firm had adapted as their offices, got demolished; here's what it looked like.
