It only reached 87 today, but was humid and strangely dark; I went out in mid-afternoon and could see the smoke like haze a block in every direction.

2:20 pm; that's not mist. The park was almost empty; a few scattered groups were eating together and strangely, more than one couple were out with a baby carriage. But I risked walking the dog in the evening, and there were other dog walkers, and a cricket game on the playing field. As we neared the house afterwards, a light sprinkle of rain fell on our heads; it reached the house soon after we did, pattering on the porch room roof, although there were only wispy clouds and haze in the sky. I'm grateful for it, and hope the mountains and the foothills get more.
