I have an electric coffee grinder that I don't think works as well as the manual one I used to have; since I have bad taste, I almost always just buy pre-ground.
Yes, usually they're the daughters idea.. we have icecream maker [that the freezy bit of which was too big to fit in freezer] sandwich toaster, mini-donuts maker [which I don't think has ever been used] and various widgetry like peelers and special knives in drawers.
The irony of it is, she never does the cooking, but she keeps buying these things because she might.
A number of them. I've collected old kitchen tools since I was a kid. The weirdest is a "foamer" for hot toddies to make the froth "frothier" from the 20's.... Cheers, Pat
Several. Some were here in the house, when we moved into it; part of DubhFosterMom's hoard, which we can't get rid of, lest she ask about them and throw a fit, even though they'll never be used again. Else? Well, the crock pots, the iced-tea maker, the espresso machine...(the latter two we intend to get back to using, but they're currently buried — our kitchen is tiny and needs to be thoroughly mucked-out again.)
We also had a vegetable steamer, which had lost a part in subsequent moves. I finally pitched that, the other day. (Now watch the missing part show-up in a box, somewhere, as they always do.)
The only kitchen machines I have that haven't been used in he last 12 months are two from my folks who've both Passed. One, the Belgian Waffle maker I'll probably donate before we move but the automatic shishkabob maker from the 70's I will keep; makes great grilled shimp! Cheers, Pat
