The housemate has developed an alarming ability to drop several of the crucial pieces of a jigsaw off the table on the far side of her chair, requiring contortions to retrieve them. At least that means they aren't really missing.

She could use a grabber stick that has pincers on one end and a handle/trigger setup on the other to pick 'em up with.
