Now that I'm diabetic, rarely. I average 1-2 drinks per year.
I used to drink occasionally. I adore good brandy and good whiskey (save for Scotch: For some reason, I always come down with the creeping crud within 48 hours after drinking it. I also like a good vodka martini, with lemon, but I don't give a damn whether you shake or stir it.
I used to tend bar, which, along with the fact that I don't get hangovers even if I drink enough to nearly kill myself, cured me of heavy drinking. DubhDad was an alcoholic, and it runs in at least three of the four sides of my ancestry (and I'm not sure about the fourth.) I miss being able to have the occasional drink, though.
Yes, but the older I get, the less it takes to get me more inebriated than I wish and/or give me indigestion the next day. So it's increasingly infrequent - but nonetheless still something I made sure I had on hand for the pandemic lockdown. I also use it in cooking.
