Cooler today, but not by much: 96 on a forecast high of 89 ...
One night recently, we were coming back after a mostly peaceful walkies and suddenly in the last block there was a couple ahead of us walking very slowly, arms entwined. They turned into our street, so we hung back for a little while before making the turn, so as not to be too close behind them. Then the dog let out a not very loud, but very clear "Woof!" The poor lovebirds jumped as if they'd had an electric shock and ran across the street. I called out to them that I was sorry and it was ok, I had a firm grasp on her and she just thought they were squirrels. But I suspect the bark really meant "Get the lead out, you're between me and my after-walk treat."
