Currently 93 degrees on a forecast high of 91, with a heat warning and forecast high of 94 for tomorrow. The dog accompanies me outside to put laundry on the line—a row of white T-shirts—and then to retrieve it, and lies down on the grass, but soon comes in so I can close the door again. The housemate works in her air-conditioned study. Fortunately there hasn't been a curfew imposed here (and it just got lifted in Santa Clara), so we can do walkies in the cool dark. People are happily using the tennis courts as we pass by, though last night the city cut the lights mid-game.
