I was told to expect the company computer wallah to replace our surveillance cameras with new ones (probably with horrifying capabilities), but he never showed. I'm not too surprised; one year he was to spend my shift with me, finishing the annual inventory and entering it into the database, and by a quarter of the way through the shift he was stumbling exhausted. He assigned more and more tasks to me and I did them capably between helping customers, while he sank into a miasma. Poor guy just isn't a night person. He was to have been at another of our stores at 10:30. I presume he's snoring in some motel right now.
