A neighbor with a relatively new house—a nice little bungalow built in the 1970s or 1980s—has had the garage torn down in order to cover the backyard with a vast new one with attached laundry room. The dog and I dodged the little excavation vehicle—what are they called, cats?—as it brought chunks of timber and siding out to a dumpster. Such waste.
