With all the dry years and the dog no longer being up to his former walk, we've got out of the habit of going to the plant sale at the community garden, so when I was at the garden center a while back I picked up a little biodegradeable capsule of seed, soil, and fertilizer: cherry tomato. There was no further info inside the peelable top as had been promised, and nothing useful on-line, but as promised there were two seeds inside, both of which came up, and it took me a while to realize there was a symbol specifying a 24" pot. So I eventually split off one plant to a separate pot - a painful experience I'm sure, but both are doing well - and of course the compost I added included 2 volunteers, so I have put those in garden beds. I notice today that the one that hasn't had to move has produced a flower. We'll see if I get any tomatoes.
