I got up and blóted for Midsummer, while the other two slept off a trip down the coast - during which they killed the car's air conditioning.

Not a good day for that to happen;>! Ours was a bit abbreviated since with the Heat Index it was 98F in the Shade for the Solstice. No long Meditation for me!

Yeah in retrospect having a visitor who has problems with heat come out over solstice kind of invited a heatwave or two. I understand they spent most of the drive chugging bottled water and eating salty snacks.
