The house guest is drinking copious quantities of Gatorade to deal with the continuing heat. Packing our recycling cart for emptying was a challenge; sadly the city appears to have caught and dissuaded the person who was going down the street removing bottles and cans for the deposit, thereby making room for more. We don't claim the deposit ourselves because this state makes it such a hassle; it was a mutually profitable arrangement.
