Sadly it looks as though this little corner of the old Santa Clara Valley is finally gone; as we drove past yesterday on the way back from the San Jose library, I saw that all the nursery displays and plants have been cleared from in front of the Victorian farmhouse. I imagine the orchard behind the house is either gone too or about to be. The old lady who appeared to be running the place solo also provided a sanctuary for countless cats. I hope she died rather than losing her property.
