Back to bright sunny days, and the California poppies are going great guns. Some people have them more or less confined:





but they have also colonized the mound of dirt left in the front yard from when a house had a basement dug out underneath it last year, and I'm not sure whether that's deliberate.



There's also a Mourning Dove on top; I think he or she was having a dust bath when I came along.
