Our plum tree does not produce plums; an arborist told us it's a gigantic sucker (his term) from the tree over the fence in the backyard orchard. Their tree has a trunk; ours has a splayed cluster of small trunks that are apparently really thickened shoots. Their tree gets blossoms, and then leaves; ours just gets leaves. But this year, after the leaves peeped out, I noticed two little blossoms emerging from one of the branches.
