It's been a day.
I arrived home to be told that Bear had been sighted wandering in the streets at 5 am. Luckily the housemate was able to bring him home, and I brushed the burrs out of his fur. He had squeezed through the windowscreen and apparently emerged from the bushes beneath like a hippo exiting a river - a trail of bits of them across the front lawn. We now have a new screen in. And a spare.
Then I looked down and realized the janitor must have put bleach in the mop water; my periwinkle golf shirt now has pink speckles.
Then I had to go to the dentist, where they kept me sitting around repeatedly and then the dentist jauntily handed me a mirror and plunged a wire up to his knuckle into a hole under one of my gold fillings.
