It rained and rained. We need all we can get, but the side yard where Bear used to be confined at his previous place was all puddles; there are huge morains of leaves in some of the gutters; and I couldn't play ball with the dogs in the back garden for fear of the grass starting to look like a rugby pitch. Or like the neighbors'.
