The hairy grey cat is put off by all the Hallowe'en inflatables in the yard in front of where s/he likes to occupy the bench on the porch. This morning I found him/her on the next-door stoop, which a reclusive person is using as a staging area for an experiment in rooting eucalyptus using a cat-litter pan filled with water. Either that or the cat is making a statement about hunger by dropping a cutting in what's intended as a large water bowl. In any case kitty was in a mellow mood and did not lacerate me.
