The rain finally came during the morning; at breakfast time it was just windy again, now we have both. I'm glad I didn't get to the leaves; I ought to have cleared the gutter yesterday, but there will be much new stuff in it now. Los Altos shows .22" of rain so far, starting in the 10–11 am hour. Meanwhile, it was weird reading the catastrophising coverage in the Chron in the early hours: "Will it really rain for eight straight days in Northern California?"; "Snow, winds could make weekend mountain travel 'impossible'". And today they've reached Armaggeddon levels. "Flooding, landslides reported as downpour grows". Apparently it's raining in SF: "Downtown S.F. empties out as extreme rain batters the area"; "'Life-threatening situation': San Francisco pounded by intense band of rain". Yeah, there's some flooding in the North Bay. But wow.
