We had to buy dog food, which involves driving on El Camino Real. Coming back, traffic wasn't bad, but it being El Cam, we did have to wait at a fair number of traffic lights. At one, a white car came out of a business and nosed straight through 3 lanes of waiting cars, turned tight into the left-turn lane in front of a moving car, and made the U-turn. The driver was a middle-aged lady of Indian-Pakistani appearance, swathed in green and brown wool, including shawl / religious headcovering. (I got a very close look at her.) Score one for learning to drive in a city on the subcontinent.
