D.O.P.-T. (yesterday)

Was in downtown Sunnyvale running an errand. The trees with white blossom are blooming. It was odd to see them along the back of what was Macy's parking lot, where the big office and apartment development is getting near finished. Like a clash of two worlds.

A potted palm in someone's front yard got blown over in the weekend storm. I had actually tried to right it, but it was much too heavy. It's been put upright and the bricks that were around the base of the pot are now on top of the vegetation around the plant. Hopefully it has a few more years till it starts to "launch" and is discarded; it's not its fault it's a palm.

A pretty day. I had laundry on the line. The cats have been shy about eating recently, but Monty and Prudence were both hanging out in the front when I came out with the dog for walkies. Monty took refuge on the fence; Prudence crouched down in the oxalis. The dog didn't see them.
