High wind and rain. Possible lightning, though sadly I didn't see any. The power has gone out at least twice; I shut my computer down when the flickering started and will be shutting it down again soon. The driveway is carpeted with bits off trees and bushes. One of my watering cans tried to blow away. Walkies was very short, in a period of sun and relatively light rain—there was a rainbow low in the sky and in the other direction I could see the rain falling more heavily half a block away, catching the sunlight. Since the front porch was wet and some cat (probably Mama Violet) had thrown up there, I swept the muddy grime off the edge after removing the vomit. I briefly saw Monty examining the damp food dishes. Prudence appeared in the back porch in the early evening and got fed there.
Los Altos has had over 2" in the last 24 hours. Some credit may be due to the neighbour who chose this weekend to drill out one of the concrete slabs in front of their house and cover the hole with plywood.
