I walked the dog sometime after 4:30. The light was just starting to fade, but the Sunday crowd on the basketball court had dwindled down to the usual small groups and the people who sit at the nearby picnic tables playing loud music had gone home, leaving lots of trash bagged up around the trash can. Then I noticed that inside the construction fence that went up a couple of weeks ago at the edge of the playing field, the restrooms have been reduced to a hole in the ground. I wonder whether they've even left the ones under the bleachers of the baseball diamond, which are inconvenient for most of the park, including the kiddie playgrounds. Botheration.
Decoration of houses in the neighborhood with lights started before Thanksgiving but is now well advanced. There's a noticeable preference for white lights this year. On the other hand, the rent house next door had a string of large colored lights hanging next to the curtains; they've now gone away, possibly the landlord noted the potential fire danger.
