Stumpy was there for breakfast, hunkered down by the stack of empty wet food bowls. Monty and Pru were at the other end of the porch, by the steps, and the two gingers were looking hostilely at each other. I put down the dry food in its usual place and the wet food at the top of the steps, went back inside and got another little can and glopped it out for Stumpy. Couldn't think of anything better to do. The same thing repeated this evening after dark; Stumpy materialized, the other two, who had already been fed earlier, were at the other end of the porch. This time when I had brought out Stumpy's serving and was going back inside, Monty came forward in his usual way to gaze in through the screen door. When I looked a couple of minutes later, Stumpy was gobbling his wet food and Monty was finishing off the dry food. So maybe they will tolerate each other so long as I keep providing plenty of food. Or maybe the couple around the corner are just away and Stumpy will go back to eating there when they return.
