First dandelion to flower in the backyard this season has been decapitated. I ripped out a lot of sprouted strangler vine from in front of the new fence where the geranium pots used to be, including prying out their clumps of pointed root nodules where I could. Pity that's what comes from those; it produces attractive berries but it throttles other plants and presumably hogs water. Then since the fence workers had left several lumps of concrete, I used three chunks about half the size of my fist as weights for the bottom ends of lines of twine up to the trellis top of the fence; I tied the twine around them. Let's see if the morning glory seedlings take the bait.
Edit: The strangler vine is Asparagus asparagoides.
