Hot again today. I took the dog out on leash at mid-afternoon rather than leave the door open for her and further overheat the house (and her). Monty was hunkered down behind the geranium pots. In the early evening, after I finished watering in the front yard, I brought in the mail that I'd noticed had finally arrived (it comes very late these days), and he had materialized on the step awaiting food, so I fed him. I don't know where he was watching me from. The housemate wonders whether he's figured out how to get onto the porch roof. I think he has a new thicket where I haven't spied him yet.
