I started extracting the former neighbors' dead morning glory vines from the chainlink fence. Fiddly work; I think I got a little more than half done. Soon after I started, Monty emerged from somewhere under the plum tree and sat watching me. After a while, he positioned himself around the corner of the garage, with just his head sticking out. Then he disappeared, but when I finished the job, I found him lying on the concrete a little further back, where I had to pass within a yard of him. Probably had still been watching me.
