D.O.P.-T.

This time the heatwave is further north; we've been having highs around 80 and today, breezy all day, very pleasant. The dog spent most of the afternoon lying in the shade on the backyard grass. Yesterday the catfood was very slow to disappear and I was afraid someone had done away with Mama Violet, but she was back for both lunch and dinner today. She departed when I came out with more food, both times, but did deign to return to eat.

( Someone cut down an old mimosa tree, and it's managed to come back and flower, too. )
