The dog is really intelligent. A couple of times now, she's detected people ahead of us on walkies before I saw them, and initiated evasive action on her own. On the other hand, when we were returning today she flushed Monty out of the bushes by the side of the driveway. Luckily he's intelligent, too; after I did my watering on that side of the house and reappeared with catfood for the evening, he was right there waiting on the steps.
