D.O.P.-T.

The housemate pays a "concierge" service to come four times a year to do things requiring technical savvy, muscles, and/or confidence with ladders like getting the disposal working again for the umpteenth time, unclogging the wash basin, cleaning the gutters, fixing the motion sensor lights and occasionally recalcitrant indoor sockets, and last year unsticking the windows the painters had glued shut. I was hoping that on today's visit they would switch the dishwasher I ganked from streetside with the one we have; it involves a couple of steps and door sills. Unfortunately, after we made the house fit to be seen, they never showed up. Someone had forgotten to tell us the date needed to be changed.
