Windier than usual today. Leaves and flowers off the bushes have drifted against the bottom of the porch steps, and the section of grass in the backyard near the toyon is carpeted with its strings of flowers; it looks like more of a job for a vacuum cleaner than garden tools.

( The banana-like plant beside the porch produced a flower right outside my window. )
