D.O.P.-T.

More rain today. I walked Her Wagginess when the showers were relatively light; unfortunately that meant there were other dogwalkers also out and about, and we ran into the idiot who lets his dog run free wherever he goes in the park. He got quite angry after we stayed where we were and didn't just turn the corner a few feet from his loose dog; started windmilling his arms and yelling at me, then ostentatiously cut us off without hooking the leash to the dog's harness. So we went the other way home. An old lady (well, she looked older than me) was aghast and asked me whether the dog was lost. (Neither he nor she was wearing a mask, incidentally, so I gave her a brief answer from a big distance.) This is going to spoil it for all the other people with dogs that like to run, who only let them off leash in the middle of the playing fields and make sure to call them if someone else's dog appears on the path and they're getting too close. Even though his dog comes when he calls him, there's a leash law and if a complaint is made, especially if some child gets scared or some other dog winds up fighting his, there'll be no more of that gentlemanly waiving of the rules. It's a pit bull mix, too, the poor dog could get in trouble. (Our dog was scared, but then she is a big wuss.)
