Today's the day the house is scheduled to be tented. The management company lady has retrieved the dog's fuzzy toy from my bed and bagged it up against the gas.
Yesterday was not so hot, though the sun still blasts through the clear mountain air. This morning it was actually a bit chilly on the porch. So we brought the extra-hot weather with us. Unfortunately the one thing this place lacks is a swimming pool.
Last night the dog discovered how to climb onto the housemate's bed to sleep, which is verboten by management but very cute.
We had a late al fresco lunch at the Red Moose Cafe in Sierra City, which has good fish and chips and where we were warned that the little crested grackles steal food very efficiently. There are also blue feathers in the woods, presumably blue jays, and a lot of the buildings have tin roofs on which the first acorns and pine cones are beginning to drop with the occasional crash.
