More and more of the buses are hybrids, rather than simply running on liquid natural gas (the previous fashion, so oughties). They apparently defy smooth driving. Not only does the engine turn off with a shudder at lights and stops; accelerating and braking involve jerks that have sent people flying when they were still trying to get to their seats. Reminds me of riding upstairs on the old London buses.
It rained enthusiastically for a few hours overnight, to my great surprise. Unfortunately that meant a loafer was in and out half a dozen times, repeatedly asking to charge his cellphone and to buy water. He wouldn't go across to 7-11 because it was raining. I did manage to get him to spend $3 over several hours.
