On my way home from the bus, I found a tree crew carving up a gigantic evergreen limb on city land and feeding it into a chipper. It had apparently fallen off, and so had a sweetgum limb; next day the sweetgum tree had been felled. I wonder if this is another manifestation of the drought and lowered water table. Or maybe I missed a small earthquake.
Apparently the Chinese anti-bleeding herbal pills that we've been giving to Bear are no longer available on Amazon. I don't want to know what's in them, but they've kept him going far, far longer than the oncologist said he would. I really hope the housemate can refill the supply from another source. It's not urgent, unless they have to be shipped surface mail from China ...
