D.O.P.-T. (yesterday)

Lost property and other clobber piles up at work behind the screen displaying the surveillance videos. I noticed someone had cleaned out some of it, but that a blue metal flask was still there; it must have been standing there for at least two years, and had a tidy conical deposit of grime on top of the lid. So during a quiet patch of the shift, I wiped it down and then took it into the bathroom to wash it off. Only to find it had liquid still in there, which I poured down the sink fast. Whatever it was was pink; who knows whether it had started off as tea, liquor, or some mix of the two. In any event I hope it cleaned the drainpipe a bit.

This morning, slight dampness from fog; this evening the housemate's dog discovered the first opossum of spring. This time the toothy marsupial was on the other side of the chainlink fence, behind the neighbor's fetid swimming tank.
