The first Xmas decorations have appeared in yards. On Saturday I noticed someone had mounted one of those white light frames in the shape of a sleigh on the facade of their house; on Tuesday in San Jose there was a house already equipped with reindeer and candy canes. Meanwhile the house-of-2-white-dogs around the corner from us still has a front yard littered with skulls.
The rain has come back, off and on. Some dramatic speckled skies. One or two neighbors determinedly running lawn sprinklers at dawn in the rain.
