Pitch black at 8 pm now. I stumbled around trying to water potted plants under the tree; I had to stick my nose next to the watering can to tell when it was full. Clearly I should find my headlamp from when I delivered papers.
The tree trimmers came this morning. I took the dogs into the yard for some exercise first and Bear discovered the little Himalayan cat from 3 doors down, mucking about near the oleander bush. Bear made a beeline for the cat, who took a vertical jump to the top of the 6-foot fence and skedaddled the length of it like an opossum before diving into the yard behind ours. Bear snuffled around hopefully under the bush.
