I pruned the photynia that likes to cover the kitchen window. (Poor thing was put in a bad place, or perhaps put itself there.) It was hot and I looked up into a deep blue sky with two seagulls suspended in it.
The new bird seed that is what OSH now stocks doesn't have a pouring spout, and doesn't seem to have any of the long thin seeds. In fact I'm not sure they can get it out through the holes in the sock; they are hanging on in ones and twos rather than the fours, fives, and sixes I was getting before, and the level is dropping very, very slowly. Don't tell me I'm going to have to order sock seed on Amazon. And please don't tell me to grow and harvest it myself like catnip. The grass does that quite well by itself.
One particular little cherry tree had great chunks of leaves knocked off and strewn about the sidewalk. I could hear and half-see the culprits swishing away out of my sight.
