There are now half-eaten green tomatoes scattered on the lawn. I think we can spare them - I had only left a few on the plants. And I'd rather something with teeth get them than the slugs. I wish they'd be neater, though.
In the middle of a throwing game, Bear grabbed his tennis ball and headed out the back door. Probably on a potty break and not wanting it to be nabbed by the other dog. So we attempted 2-dog, 2-human throwing games in the backyard, but not with much success. I have a doggie frisbee but neither dog can figure out how to catch it and I still can't figure out how to throw one without it hurtling off at right angles. And the other dog glomps the ball in the air before poor Bear can get near it.
Stepped out of work today a little early and into utter blackness. It was spitting rain; I managed to catch the early bus and noticed hardly any of the businesses along El Camino had neon on. Just a few strings of fairy lights and the few illuminated signs of the places that were open, like Starbucks. It was murky. I have a feeling those that haven't closed down are economizing by not flashing "SMOG" and so forth all night, but it didn't feel like El Cam ...
