The two houses that replaced the rambling old farmhouse are ready for sale. Meanwhile the nice old 1930s house that was housing at least 10 people in its various spaces and outbuildings was stripped of its chimney and porch and had its garage and the studio building demolished and then was left all winter, with no covering over the leaky roof. They have now built a colossal 2-storey structure with cavernous integrated garage at the bottom of the garden, and knocked down all the walls of the original house; they're using the hardwood floor, with extensions in cheaper new wood, as the basis of a new house that looks to be only one story. Lumber for the roof is stacked on top of the walls. All has now been well soaked by the late rains.
